Congrats to everyone!  I currently have a few spots open at the end of September and after...you may use your session, gift your session, or save your session for up to one year. For those who are using the $25 credit, you must book your session prior to December 31, 2012, but you may book up to 12 months in advance as well.  :)

Pin It Don't mind the dust; it has been a long time since I updated the Whim Blog.  I've been getting so much word of mouth business that I haven't been taking care of my SEO, but I am on it.  ;-)

UPDATE:  A few people have emailed me that there were issues with posting comments.  I have approved most and will extend the giveaway till Saturday at 8.  I apologize for the technical issues and hope the extra days will help you rack up more entries!

As promised, here are the details of how to win either an "anything mini session or a newborn session that you can keep for yourself or give as a gift!  And don't forget, everyone who enters will get a special discount on a future session with me if you book within three months!

You can earn entries in a variety of ways, and you will need to make a separate comment for each entry. Here are the ways you can earn entries:

South Florida Newborn Photographer | A Luau for Baby Lulu!

Pin It If there is one thing I love, it's my newborns.  I can't quite believe I ever aspired to be an event photographer...one little breath of Heaven and I was hooked!  I have had the privilege and honor of photographing several sweethearts this year, and it has been an amazing experience for me. 

The coolest part about photographing little Juliette Lelani (Lulu!) is that her big sister is a MODEL!  To be chosen by Lulu's mom to photograph her beautiful little bundle when she has worked with, arguably, the best children's photographers in the world was incredible, and if I am being completely honest, just a BIT intimidating.  I shouldn't have worried. Lulu and I got along famously, and mom had me laughing the whole time.

And in keeping with her Hawaii inspired name...

What To Wear For A South Florida Photography Session

One of the first questions families ask after booking a session is "what should I wear?"


Honestly, that is very much a matter of your preference. In general, I tell my families to avoid logos and character shirts that will "date" your photos.  Sticking to timeless, classic separates are always a safe bet. That being said, if your family is funkilicious, don't be afraid to show it!  Overall, think bright complimentary colors, rather than everyone wearing white with denim or khaki, unless your family is all about the traditional, and in that case, go for it!  Add interesting accessories for detail and texture; chunky knit scarves and hats for winter, light layers for summer and spring.  Also, take the location of your shoot into consideration.  How about airy beach-glass inspired pastels for those ocean shoots?  Parks are chock full of greenery and earth tones, and that antique store you love is a great place to showcase your vintage fashions.  Basically, just have fun with it, and wear clothes that are "you", and that make you feel beautiful!



As an example, here is just one fabulous summer guide, and since it is practically summer all year long in sunny Florida, this would work almost any time!
